Dr Daniel Edey
MD, BSc (Honours)
Daniel completed his doctor of medicine at the University of Queensland, and went on to work as a resident doctor in multiple hospitals in Brisbane. He was born in Brisbane and attended high school and university here, before starting work as a doctor.
Before working in General Practice, Daniel gained extensive experience in hospitals in and outside of Queensland. He has worked in respiratory, cardiology, plastic surgery, emergency and paediatric emergency medicine. He enjoys being hands on and doing skin excisions, biopsies, Implanon insertions and removals, iron infusions and any other procedure in a primary care setting.
Daniel also has an interest in the field of mental health. He enjoys navigating symptoms of depression and anxiety with a holistic approach, working with patients to provide a personalised approach to their mental health challenges.
With an extensive background in internal medicine, Daniel is also very interested in diagnosis and management of chronic health conditions such as asthma, emphysema, diabetes, hypertension, and heart failure.
Daniel spent the second half of 2023 working as a paediatric emergency doctor in Logan. He gets along well with children and parents, and enjoys helping manage acute illnesses, bumps, cuts, and longer-term problems.
Daniel enjoys the hands-on aspect of primary care and enjoys minor procedures such as iron infusions, Implanon insertions and removals, skin biopsies and excisions.
During school and university Daniel was a competitive runner and triathlete. Having given up endurance sport, he enjoys going to the gym and recently started CrossFit. Outside of work he also enjoys travelling and trying different local foods. He also enjoys mindfulness and meditation practices, and is trying to find time to attend more meditation retreats.
