Our Practice:

Turbot Street Medical Centre was first opened in July 2013 with the motto to provide 'quality, comprehensive and timely care'. Turbot St Medical Centre is a locally owned and operated practice. Turbot St Medical Centre provides healthy and friendly working culture to its staff and doctors and ensures that our patients feel welcomed by our helpful team.

Turbot St Medical Centre is very popular among all age groups and people from different cultures. We also have specialists such as psychiatrists, psyhoclogists, women health focussed GP, and Skin Cancer specialists. We have staff and doctors who speak Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Farsi, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian and Macedonian. We are open 7 days a week and even on public holidays to provide continuity of care. Our practice is designed for the comfort of all, modern for the working professionals, meticulously designed facilities for the comfort of old age, or kids friendly zone for the children.

Turbot Street Medical Centre is conveniently located on the 1st floor of Spring Hill Market Place, on the corner of Turbot Street and Boundary Street. We have appointments available throughout your working day and keep a portion of our appointments available for walk-in appointments. We believe that having your own personal doctor is important to your health and where possible try to maintain this important interaction.

Brisbane CBD Doctors:

Turbot St Medical Centre is a part of Brisbane CBD Doctors where doctors at our practice and Central Station Medical Centre work as a team to provide provide 7 days a week service to the Brisbane CBD patients. The patient database is shared using cloud based technology so that the records are accessible at any of these location without any inconvenience to our patients. The appointments at these locations can also be booked using our Brisbane CBD Doctors website at brisbanecbddoctors.com.

Our highly experienced nurses work at the direction of the Doctors at the Centre and will assist in providing comprehensive coordinated healthcare services.

Free Parking for 2 hours
There is free parking available for our patients onsite for up to 2 hours

Pharmacy
Priceline Pharmacy is located on the Ground Floor and is open 7 days a week.

Radiology
Citiscan Radiology and Savage X-ray are both located 500m from our practice should you need referring. We are also close to Queensland Diagnostic Imaging at St. Andrews Private Hospital. Please speak with reception if you need directions from our practice

Psychiatrist appointments avaiable for Wednesday and Thursday by appointment ONLY. Please call us to make an appointment.

Psychologist

Psychologist appointments available on Wednesday to Friday by appointment ONLY. Please call us to make an appointment.

Appointments:

If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact us on (07) 3839 0128 or you can make a quick and easy appointment through our website, just click on the make an appointment tab on the left of the screen.
Most of our standard appointments last for 15 minutes, if you think you need more time with one of our doctors please advise reception staff of this. You can learn more about what qualifies as a long appointment by clicking here.
 Where possible, we will always try to ensure that we can find a suitable appointment time with your preferred doctor. Please be aware that emergencies will be given priority, if this situation should occur when you are scheduled to attend the practice, our staff will ensure every effort is made to contact you.

Cancellations: 

Due to a high demand of appointments at Turbot Street Medical Centre, we do ask that if for any reason you are unable to attend your scheduled consultation that you notify us as soon as possible to allow others the opportunity for an appointment.

Information you supply:

On arrival to Turbot Street Medical Centre, we will ask that you complete a registration form prior to your consultation. To ensure optimal patient care, we request that you inform us of your cultural background. In addition, any changes to your personal information on subsequent visits to us, such as change of contact or Medicare details, address or emergency contact please bring this to the attention of our reception staff.

Results:

When this surgery receives significant abnormal test results, our staff will contact you to arrange a follow up appointment. Patients are encouraged to contact the surgery for results of all investigations. Your enquiry will lead to a reassurance that results were as expected, or of a course of action that the doctor has indicated. Results cannot be given over the phone and we advise that a follow up consultation for results is scheduled with your Doctor.


Repeat Prescriptions:



You will need to see your General Practitioner in order to get a repeat prescription, if the consultation is brief, it may be charged at a reduced rate. This service is at the discretion of the treating doctor. Referrals to specialists cannot be written without a consultation.

After Hours:
Turbot Street Medical Centre use the Brisbane After Hours Doctors service. Brisbane After Hours Doctors are a fully accredited service and is bulk billed to those eligable. If you require assistance after hours, please call them 1300 HOME DR (1300 466 337). Please remember to telephone 000 for immediate attention in the event of a medical emergency.
Home visits are available in some circumstances. Please discuss these options with reception staff.

Your rights:


If you have a problem, we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or receptionist. You may prefer to write to us or use our suggestion box. We take your compliments, concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. However, if you wish to take the matter further and feel that you need to discuss the matter outside of the surgery, please phone the Office of the Health Ombudsman on 133 464 or go to their website to find out more.
